Instructions for use :16 Bore Pinfire Shotgun

Before shooting, have your gun checked by a gunsmith.
Use BLACK POWDER ONLY

1) Screw the primer holder onto the threaded rod and insert a black powder pistol primer
(with the primer cup under the pinhole)

2) Insert the primer holder into the bottom the empty cartridge case so that the hole
in it lines up with the one in the cartridge case. Fix it in place by inserting the pin.

With a pair of pliers, squeeze the pin into the case until it comes into contact with the primer.
Then, pull the pin back out by about 1 mm.

3) Unscrew the threaded rod and pour 4.5 grammes of suitable black powder into the case.
Warning!!!
Any blow to the pin may set off the charge

4) Push a wad down into the case until it comes into firm,
but not violent, contact with the black powder.
.

5) Pour 28 grammes (one imperial ounce) of lead shot the size of your choosing into the case.

6) Cap the case with a card shilling.

If necessary, modify the quantity of shot, so that the card shilling lies just below
the perforations used in sealing the cartridge.

7) With a small wooden stick (a thoothpick of 2mm diameter is ideal), block the card shilling in place. Then, trim off the protruding parts of the stick with nail clippers.

8) Put another small stick over the first and, again, trim off the ends.

Optional: A spot of glue can be placed at the point where the small sticks intersect.

After Firing: Screw the threaded rod onto the primer holder in bottom of the case.

With a pair of pliers, pull out the pin and free the primer holder.

Carefully clean and dry all the parts.

The thickness of the case wall allows the case to be reloaded almost indefinitely,
without the need for resizing.
